DANCIN’ THE CAMERA
A short film made by director Pieter-Rim de Kroon and choreographer Marije Nie.
A love story between a tap dancer, a piano player and a 1922 hand cranked motion-picture camera .The old camera is both camera, character and stage. Seduced by the rhythms of the camera mechanics, the tap dancer jumps into the magical world of analogue black-and-white film where her dreams seam infinitely possible.
In the end she finds out there is something that matters even more.
A tribute to tap dance and the magic of film – a classic and unique combination.
